Baptisms and Polo's

Image
May 23, 2022 The last week has been very eventful! Emotions were very up and down.  Moises just got baptized! He is a super happy guy. Right after the baptism he, got up and yelled "He Lives!!!". It was a great experience for him.  We also went to church in polo's/less dressy dress shirts. People we are teaching didn't feel comfortable coming to church when everyone wears white shirts and ties... so we didn't. It was kinda fun. "What would Jesus do? He would love first." People gave us some looks but I knew that I was doing it out of love, not rebellion (missionaries are supposed to wear a white shirt and tie).  We are teaching so many different people, it's hard to keep track of them all. I am also just lazy, and don't want to write out 40 names (that isn't an exaggeration btw).  Anyway. Busy busy busy. It's hard to be a missionary, but it is a very rewarding "job". I just keep pushing through.  Pictures: 1. Moises Baptism  2....

May 18, 2022 This week has been great! I now know everyone we are teaching in 1 stake (out of 2). It will take time but I'm getting there. We have 3 people on date for baptism, and I am so happy for them! There is Moises, Sarah, and Tina. It's fun to see their faith in Jesus Christ grow as we teach them more. We have a massive teaching pool (people we are actively teaching). I'm looking right now and I can see 19 people. The average in this mission (that I have seen) is about 4. 19 is a freak ton!  Pictures: 1. With our STL's (Sister Training Leaders) 2. With President Johnson and Angela Johnson

New Area, New Calling

May 10, 2022 This week was exchanges meaning I am in a new area, new companion, and new calling. I was called to be a zone leader and I am so excited. This will be good for me too! I like leadership. The only issue is because I'm 6 months into my mission, people don't respect me as much as the people our longer. I guess I just need to prove to them that I can do the work. My new comp is Elder Watson, he has about 3 months left in his mission. He is so fun! We are teaching a ton of people in the new area. It is so great to be busy all the time. Elder Blacker also has to get surgery today so that will be fun. Anyway. Good week. Pictures: 1. Elder Watson and cute kid 2. At the ER

Baptisms, Transfers and ZL

May 10, 2022 The last 3 weeks have been crazy! Literally the busiest 3 weeks on my mission (hence the reason I haven't written an email). April 19th-25th: This week we found more people to teach and it was so fun! We also planned and prepared for the Laskewitz family to get baptized! Walking them through the font and process got them (and me) so excited! That family is so great! April 26th-May 2nd: The Laskewitz family got baptized on Saturday and confirmed on Saturday. Everything was so busy. We walked from house to house, church to church to see all the people we needed to and fill out a ton of paperwork. YOU WOULD BE SUPRISED HOW MUCH WE NEED TO DO FOR A BAPTISM! It was so fun though. The Laskewitz are now Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am so proud of them.  Pictures: 1. My district  2. Laskewitz family getting baptized
