Elder Macfarlane's Unforgettable Utah Adventures

January 24, 2022   We found out about a lot of people going to their original assignment. I'm so excited for them! They are all so cool! There are also a ton of people leaving the mission. I'm happy for them but sad to see them go. We call this "dying". So for me, when I first came out on a mission "Elder Macfarlane" was born, and when I leave "Elder Macfarlane" will die. The "Eric" part of me I guess is just in a coma or something I guess?! Anyway. This week. We did exchanges this week (when you change comp's for a day) to see new areas, understand how others do missionary work, and take a small break from being with the same person all the time. I have been really lucky with companions so far, but I can understand why people would need a break from being with someone that much. The exchange was with with Elder Winward and Davis.  January 24, 2022 All right. This is another "make up" email. Sorry everyone who was waiting all day last week, refreshing their mail boxes over and over again to get my weekly email lol. I will try to do better haha. I had some crazy lessons! They were so sick!  We have taught this part-member family for a while, and they are going to get baptized soon! I am so excited for them! The daughter's baptism will be in the next 2 weeks, and the son's will be hopefully soon as well. Great family, with a ton of dedication to our Heavenly Father.  Then we have a family of 4 that we just met, and they are already talking about wanting to get baptized, go to the temple to make more covenants with God, and have eternal families! That is so cool! We didn't even bring that up, they are just really excited. They are all really smart, and I am so impressed when the kids ask questions. The questions are so deep for their age (and sometimes for the average adult too haha). SO COOL ...

January 10, 2021   This week. We honestly didn't do a ton. We got out of quarantine on Wednesday. I got to know the area a lot more and we set up lessons for a very promising family for tonight! I'm excited for that! We have a baptism coming up hopefully soon as well. As long as things work out. We are hopeful! I know that God has blessed me with guidance in my life and that is much more evident on a mission, doing His Work. I hope to bring as many people to Christ as I can!  January 3, 2022 Yes, you heard that right. I was moves again this week. I have had 4 companions in the 2 months I've been out. Kinda crazy! I am now in Layton. It's crazy how much I've moved around. My new comp is Elder Knudsen and he is fun to be around! Which is good because WE LITERALLY CANT LEAVE THE FREAKING HOUSE NOW. Sooooo... Many of you have probably heard about the mtc (missionary training center) having a large number of covid cases. Well, people showed up to our mission from there with it and A TON of people now have it. We now can not leave out house for 5 days (only about 2-3 days when I send this out). We will be getting a test to see if we have it, but I am assuming we do. Everyone we have been around has been tested and has covid. I'm doing fine tho. My Comp was KO'd for a day, but he good now. So we have been trying online lessons but it's kinda hard to find new people when we can't leave the house. So yeah! The week has been good. I met a...
