Hello hello

 July 24, 2023

*my mother exclaimed her feelings on the brief nature of my emails a fortnight ago, so I have decided to proclaim my story how it should be! Overly dramatic for No reason!! (and I'm low key board so I thought this could be fun).

Our hero starts off this week in a gloomy, dangerous area knocking door, after door, after door, in search for "the elect". Where is this you might ask? The war ridden lands of the middle east? No. A scorching desert, or an iced over wasteland? No... Davis County... UTAH!

I was hoping to have the pictures from a baptism that happened a few weeks ago but I just haven't gotten them yet. I know, it lame. I am SO PROUD OF HER making the decision to be baptized and take a major step to enter into the kingdom of God! Whenever the picture wants to show up, I'll add it to an email.

The last few weeks have been crazy! We find at least 1 more person to teach every day which is so great to see! The people have been prepared in this area, that's for sure! My mission president challenged me to help 3-5 people make that covenant of baptism in this next month (a high goal, but something I know is possible)!

We have met some interesting characters in this area so far haha ðŸ˜‚. One person tried to tell us that Jesus Christ never died on the cross, and that they just took him down and asked him to chill in the tomb for a few days! There are also a ton of kids who love missionaries around here! Because we have so many apartment complexes in our area, they are always outside and sufficiently humble to listen!

It is honestly pretty nice to not have a leadership calling right now. I have been in some leadership assignment for most of my mission, and I loved it for a while, but right now I would rather just get out there and work in my area!

We have been challenged to read The Book of Mormon a few times, The New Testament, and now we are on The Doctrine and Covenants/Pearl of Great Price! I have learned a ton. Long story short. God's plan is kinda cool! The best way to learn about it is though HIS scriptures.

I hope you have a chill upcoming week! If you ever need some motivation, check out these frogs chillin on a bench! They are probably my favorite statue I've seen in a while!!! (picture below)

Love all ya guys,
Elder Macfarlane
